Peacefully Bernadette (Bernie) R.I.P. beloved wife of Gerry, loving mother of Brendan, Geraldine, Joe, Mary, John, Bernadette and Eilish and dear sister of Hugh, Margaret, Seamus and the deceased members of her family.

Bernie’s funeral cortege will leave from her late residence, 13 Armstrong Drive, on Wednesday at approx. 2pm travelling to the Church of Our Lady & St. Patrick via John St./Victoria St allowing friends and neighbours the opportunity to pay their respects whilst maintaining social distancing.

Requiem Mass will be streamed live on Our Lady & St. Patrick’s, Ballymoney YouTube channel at 2:30pm. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Unfortunately, due to the Corona Virus pandemic, and in the interest of health and safety within the community, the house is strictly private and funeral Mass numbers are strictly limited to immediate family only.

Our Lady of Knock pray for her.

Deeply regretted by her sorrowing sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, great great grandchild and the  entire Gillan and McAlister family circle.

Family flowers only please.  Donations in lieu, if desired, to Dementia NI c/o Mc Kiernan & Sons, 45-47 Maghera St. Kilrea BT51 5QL.

    Bernie’s favourite poem.

    The life that I have
    Is all that I have
And the life that I have
    Is yours.

    The love that I have
Of the life that I have
Is yours and yours and yours.

    A sleep I shall have
    A rest I shall have
Yet death will be but a pause.

For the peace of my years
    In the long green grass
Will be yours and yours and yours.
